BNY Mellon, America's oldest bank and its largest custodian, went live with a platform letting select clients hold and transfer Bitcoin and Ether next to their traditional assets. As the first systemically important US bank to actually custody crypto rather than merely talk about it, the move quietly dragged digital assets into the plumbing of mainstream finance, built atop Fireblocks and Chainalysis and a fresh NYDFS sign-off.
