On 15 November 2018, Bitcoin Cash hard-forked at block 556,766 into two chains: Bitcoin ABC (which kept the BCH ticker) and Bitcoin SV, championed by Craig Wright and Calvin Ayre under the "Satoshi's Vision" banner. The two camps then burned enormous hashpower trying to out-mine each other in a "hash war" that rattled an already-sinking 2018 bear market, before the ABC chain prevailed and the chains went their separate ways.
